Positioned on Pulau Selakan, this traditional overwater property provides simple lodging inside the boundaries of Tun Sakaran Marine Park. Managed by Red Divers Sdn Bhd since 2013, our lodge offers a practical and welcoming base that centers around local hospitality. The name stems from the native word for home, emphasizing our straightforward, personal approach for travelers seeking an unhurried island experience.
A small collection of six stilt rooms lets you stay right above the water near shallow reef structures. Each travel package features a dedicated private boat charter for your transfers, avoiding any shared transport with outside parties. A functional dive space is located on our wooden jetty to handle daily equipment logistics.
Sharing the island with a local Bajau fishing community provides a grounded, authentic environment separate from typical commercial tourist zones. Guests choose our lodge for its immediate access to marine life and its relaxed, uncomplicated atmosphere.

Regional management limits entry to 120 visitors per day across all companies, meaning early registration is critical. Local regulations limit activity to 3 dives per person daily (effective 1 May 2026), with paperwork handled by our team.
Tailored schedules can integrate visits to Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai and local marine park locations. Excursions use our private boat charter directly from the lodge, inclusive of basic lodging, daily meals and guided water activities.
Daily breakfast and dinner are part of every package, provided buffet-style in our shared overwater dining pavilion. Dishes incorporate local seafood purchased from island fishermen, alongside traditional rice and vegetable preparations.
The kitchen team focuses on practical, filling portions to keep active divers fed throughout the day. When returning from late evening dives, travelers find hot tea and towels set out on the timber jetty as a regular routine.

Tawau Airport is the main aviation hub serving the Semporna area. Regular domestic routes connect via AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines from Kuala Lumpur or Kota Kinabalu, with travel times from the capital lasting roughly 2 hours 30 minutes.
The road journey between the airport terminal and Semporna town takes about one hour. Local transport choice includes shared minivans or point-to-point taxis directly from the terminal exit, and our team can coordinate vehicle booking if needed.
Our boat charter transits directly from the primary town jetty over to Selakan Island. The sea crossing takes approximately 25 minutes on your group's private boat, with departure schedules organized around your arrival timing in town.
If Luma means home, then this place truly lives up to the name. The crew is wonderful, the food was tasty and the room was comfortable and spacious with sea breezes doing the cooling. We came for the diving and the macro life here is outstanding: nudibranchs, cuttlefish and pygmy seahorses that I had not expected to find so easily.

As a dedicated macro photographer, Luma Selakan was a revelation. The dive sites are very close by and the marine life density is exceptional. After night dives, the staff had hot towels and ginger tea ready which is a lovely touch. The whole place has a homely feel. A place I will return to without question.

Came as a couple for diving and snorkeling. The resort is inside Tun Sakaran Marine Park on a real fishing island, which gives it a very different character from the resort-heavy areas. Room was spacious and clean with good ventilation. The staff are attentive and clearly know their waters well. A beautiful and charming place.
